Chinese American Actors

One of the most interesting Chinese actresses of modern times is Daisy Xiong. Born in 1978, she rose to fame only in her later years. She went on to star in some movies that dealt with the Chinese language and in more high profile films. She has gone on to become a well known and respected name in the industry. In this article we will take a look at one of her most famous roles, which propelled her to stardom status.

“One Night We Like to Live in New York” (2021) This film depicts Xiong as a Chinese American single mother who takes a trip to New York to reunite with her recently departed brother. Her brother had been away in the U.S.A. She goes back to New York and reunites with him only to discover that he has a wife and child back in the States. They decide to go on a trip and while en route, they encounter an old man who teaches them both words and song. It is here the two interact and learn that they have a mutual love for each other. The film was directed by Bill Murray and written by Charles Kopple.

“Xiongage” (2021) Another very good movie starring Daisy Xiong as herself and this time it did not involve the Chinese. This film portrays Xiong as someone who is not necessarily all that bright but has a lot of potential. It shows her good sense of humor and the love she has for her brother and in particular their relationship. She also has many hilarious scenes as she tries to outwit the many Chinese men that try to get her into bed.

“Mu Lan” (2021) This is another excellent Chinese comedy which star Daisy Xiong as herself and here she plays the role of a Chinese American housekeeper. This film follows the life of the housekeeper and how she manages to make ends meet. This role required some experience for Xiong as she needed to be able to deal with many Chinese men that work around the area. She manages to go on to have several more successes in her career.

“The Damned United” (2021) This is another very entertaining Chinese film that stars Daisy Xiong as a patriotic Chinese American. She plays Amy Yeo, an American woman that becomes a spy for the Chinese in order to help them fight against America’s enemies. She goes on to find out that she is needed badly within the Chinese forces and thus she defects and helps them. She falls in love with a local Chinese man while doing this and they end up getting married. This is a good Chinese American film that many people should watch.

These are just a few of the many excellent films that Daisy Xiong has been involved with. She has gone on to star in many more and has also gone on to star in many English language films as well. Her body of work is huge and the roles she has done have all been great. She is definitely one of the best Chinese American actresses that has come to our shores and she deserves every bit of it.
