Pushing Daisies received positive reviews and numerous award nominations. It was nominated for 18 awards, including seven Primetime Emmy Awards. But despite the positive reviews of the show, the series ended due to the lowered ratings and a lack of renewed interest. Here are some of the reasons why:

Daisy and Billy continue writing songs for the band, though their collaboration is strained. However, Billy is worried about Daisy’s substance abuse, so he tells her to leave the band. Daisy tries to kiss Billy one night, but he pulls away. Billy tells Daisy to leave the band and go to Thailand. Later, Camila confides in her mother about her complicated relationship with Billy, who’s now in rehab for heroin addiction. She is afraid that she will break Graham’s heart and leave him for another woman.

As the story unfolds, Billy spends two months in rehab. Daisy’s contract with Runner Records ends when she refuses to cut songs that record executives want to hear. She starts smoking and takes drugs, but Billy feels that his talent is wasted on her. This leads her to think that she shouldn’t be singing any more. Then, in early 1975, she makes her debut album. Meanwhile, Billy and Camila move to Malibu to raise their daughter, Jenny.
