Daisy Duke in Dukes of Hazard

Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) is the cousin of Bo and Luke Duke, a southern belle who aspires to be a singer and songwriter. She is generally honest, but she can be somewhat overly trusting and naive. She frequently becomes involved in the Duke boys’ car chases, first in her yellow and black 1974 Plymouth Road Runner and later, from mid-season 2 onwards, in her trademark white 1980 Jeep CJ-7 named Dixie.

In addition to her work at the Boar’s Nest restaurant, Daisy is a waitress for Roscoe and Hogg’s tavern. She often uses her charm and sex appeal to distract male policemen or henchmen, enabling the Dukes to escape their pursuers or foil their evil plans. She also possesses an innate talent for shooting firearms with great accuracy, to the point where Cooter calls her “Sharpshooter of the Week” on one occasion.

Like her two male cousins, Daisy is well-versed in automotive mechanics and driving, and she often fixes up the General Lee herself. She is also an expert shot, able to accurately fire a rifle while the vehicle is moving, as evidenced by the episode “Mary Kaye’s Baby” in which she pierces a stolen armored personnel carrier with a single arrow from her rifle.
