The Daisies are one of the many well known pet names in the UK and indeed around the world. The pronunciation of the name can vary slightly, depending on the pronunciation of your own name and those of your family and friends. The spelling is also a little unusual, for example “DAISY” is also the spelling used by the American TV show Ripper Street. I have been asked to translate the name quite a few times, from the British to the American way, and each time I do the name sounds very different. “DAISY” in my mind always means daisy, but in fact it means Daisy or sometimes Daffodil.
As Daisy we find ourselves using many names over many years, and she has become part of so many groups of friends, and so has she.
