Daisy Wick on Bones

For those who’ve had the privilege of watching Bones for 12 years, it’s hard to forget about some of its beloved characters. One such person was Daisy Wick, played by recurring actress Carla Gallo. Although the intern has only appeared on three episodes of the series, she quickly made a big impression. She was described as “astoundingly intelligent, surprisingly sarcastic, and just plain funny.”

Although her sarcasm is often misinterpreted as anger, she has a soft side too. In fact, in The Skull in the Sculpture, she reveals that she idolizes Dr. Brennan. She also shows compassion towards the shattered Camille Saroyan, and helps Booth and Brennan with their investigation of the woman’s death. Daisy even joins Dr. Brennan on a year-long anthropological dig in the season 5 finale.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that she’s an incredibly valuable member of the team, Daisy was killed off in season 10. The episode was particularly heartbreaking because it was clear that both Booth and Brennan had come to really like her. Even more so, it was revealed that she was pregnant with Sweets’ son.

While the death was definitely tough for fans, it’s important to remember that it wasn’t entirely a surprise. John Francis Daley had been busy directing a reboot of the National Lampoon franchise, and it was never going to be possible for him to keep returning to film the Fox procedural. Luckily, series creator Hart Hanson isn’t ruling out the possibility of a return to Bones for a 13th and final season.
