Daisy Youth BB Gun Review

daisy youth bb gun

Daisy is one of the oldest and most recognizable brands of BB guns. Their original Red Ryder was designed more than 80 years ago and continues to teach marksmanship, gun safety and tradition to generations of young shooters. It is a lever-action spring air rifle that stores the BBs in a sleeve surrounding its smoothbore barrel. When the cocking lever is pulled, it compresses a spring that drives an internal piston up through the sear and propels a BB to the target.

This is a great gun to get kids started with because it requires little effort to cock the weapon. It takes only three pounds of force to do so, which means even the youngest kids will be able to fire this gun. It holds up to 400 BBs at a time and has an adjustable rear iron sight and post front sight. While it does not have as much velocity as the other BB guns on this list, it is still a great choice for kids to learn marksmanship with.

For older kids, Daisy’s Powerline line of BB and pellet guns includes multishot pistols that use CO2 powerlets to fire multiple rounds in rapid succession and rifled barrels for greater accuracy and range than Daisy’s Youth Rifles. These are great to have for adolescent marksmanship practice or for use in jurisdictions where firearms are not allowed. The most popular Powerline models are the BB revolver and pellet rifle.
